from the great northland
as m.r. and i have now parted ways and my 89 days of excellent adventure are drawing to a close, i want to sign off with a few comments of gratitude.
thank you to all the friends and family (both my own and those of my beloved travelling companion) for conquering and possibly even comprehending the pages upon pages of anecdotes composed after late night, drawn out homecooked meals and during long car trips crammed in captain's back seat. it has been a point of encouragement to have an audience back home interested in our whereabouts and happenings.
thank you to our third troublemaker, allison, for braving the life of a poor vagabond with us. your conversation, humor and flexibility proved a refreshing addition. at the very least it gave mattie and i someone else to tell our same old stories to!
and finally, where would i be on this strange thing they call a computer and in this wildly magical land without my dearest mattie ruth. mattie, you calmly stood by me in all my neuroses and you taught me about patience and acceptance. thank you for being such a stable influence in my life and for openly sharing ideas and beliefs with me. the stories will be told for years to come.
with love and gratitude,
elisabeth
